EAST Parade Bowling Club in Rhyl has secured a league and cup double in its first season in the Colwyn/Llandudno League.

Its final 8-4 league win, against a strong Llandudno B team, enabled the Seasiders to romp home with the Division D title by 10 clear points, having previously won the League Cup against Betws yn Rhos, its main rivals in both competitions.

The club has achieved notable success overall this season.

East Parade A finished as Division C champions of the Clwyd League, while East Parade B won the Clwydian Senior Citizens Division D Cup.

Indeed, the club’s teams have shown improvement throughout all competitions during the 2022 season, not least East Parade Ladies, who exceeded expectations with promising results.

East Parade is already planning for the 2023 season.

It is anticipated that an additional team will be formed in the Clwyd League, making four sides in total, matching its number already competing in the Clwydian Senior Citizens League.

In addition to its Colwyn/Llandudno and Clwydian Ladies Leagues’ teams, plans are afoot for the club to enter a team in the North Wales Coast League on Saturdays.

East Parade is continually seeking players of all ages and abilities including those new to the sport.

A total of five playing members have trained as additional Welsh Crown Green Bowling Association (WCGBA) assistant club coaches, and taster sessions have already been undertaken with two schools.
