THE Rhyl-based East Parade Bowls Club gained an impressive victory over main league rivals Betws yn Rhos to win the Colwyn and Llandudno District Bowling League Shield on the St Asaph green.
In a sporting encounter, the Seasiders amassed 297 points from eight winners to plucky Betws’ 229 points from two winners to secure the trophy in their first season in this league.
Jim Paton, league treasurer, presented the shield to winning non-playing captain, David Evans.

East Parade bowlers now turn their attention to a tricky second half of the season, with promotion being their main focus.
A spokesperson for East Parade Bowls Club added: “Particular thanks are due to Peter Hayes, St Asaph BC President, who not only acted as match referee but was also solely responsible for refreshments for both teams.
“A true unsung hero!”
