RUNNERS from Abergele took part in the start of the 2023-24 Borders League season in Caernarfon yesterday (October 1).
James Yarwood, of Wrexham Athletic Club, ran an excellent time of 33.50 on the 10k course for fifth place overall in a very competitive field from North Wales and the borders.

After heavy rain just before the start, the race was run in bright, warm, sunny conditions.
John Jones, running for Eryri Harriers, finished 148th in a time of 44.30, and second in the V65 category.
