CARD Factory will open a new store at a retail park in Rhyl later this week.

The shop, which will be based at unit 10 of Marina Quay Retail Park, will welcome customers for the first time on Thursday (March 14).

It will mean the greeting cards and gifts retailer will have two shops in Rhyl, with Card Factory’s store on the town’s High Street to remain open as usual.

Go-ahead for Card Factory at Rhyl unit thought to have been Papa Johns

Card Factory is taking on a unit which had been expected to be taken on by fast food outlet Papa Johns, after the company had its own planning application at the site approved in August 2022.

Steve Lilley, executive director of retail for Card Factory, said: “We’re delighted to be opening a second store in Rhyl, at Marina Quay Retail Park, next Thursday.

“Together with our High Street store, which will continue to trade as normal, our Rhyl-based customers will now have even greater access to our fantastic and affordable range of cards, gifts and partyware.

“The new store features an improved layout with bold and bright signage and navigation, making it easy for customers find the cards they want, as well as those all-important gifts, wrap, balloons and party accessories.

“We’ve got a great team ready to welcome and celebrate the opening with shoppers on Thursday morning.

“We’re also really looking forward to strengthening our support for good causes in the local community.”

Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee approved Card Factory’s application for advertisement consent at the retail park on March 6.

Rhyl Town Council also raised no objections to Card Factory’s application to open at Marina Quay when consulted on them in February.

Popular chicken franchise Pepe’s Piri Piri opened at the adjacent unit 11 at Marina Quay Retail Park in November.
