WORK TO improve the outdoor space at an amusement arcade in Prestatyn has begun.

Open space improvement works at the Waves Amusement Arcade, at Beach Road, started today (February 22).

The work is part of a project to regenerate several sites in the Vale of Clwyd, after the region secured £20million of UK Government Levelling Up Funding.

The council said access would be restricted for a three to four week period, and that the project would see the temporary closure of parts of the play area and footpath.

There is expected to be noise as a result of the work.

A Denbighshire County Council spokesperson said: "On the 22nd of February, work is scheduled to commence to deliver open space improvement works around the Waves Arcade in Prestatyn.

"Access to the rear of the arcade will be restricted for a 3–4 week period (weather dependant) while these works take place, which will include temporarily fencing off some parts of the play area and footpaths and some noise as a result of the construction works.

"Signage will be in place to inform the public."
