A PUB in Prestatyn has welcomed back customers for the first time today (February 21) since it temporarily shut for refurbishment works.

The William Morgan, at 29-31 High Street, re-opened at 12pm today after several weeks of closure, following a six-figure investment made towards giving the pub a new look.

It will also host a grand launch party from February 22-25.

The venue has undergone a full renovation, with new decoration throughout, bathrooms having been renovated, and new TVs installed.

Guests can now also enjoy its extensive outdoor space, with new fixed seating to the front of the main building, and its “little sun trap” beer garden to the rear.

Built in the late 1800s, the pub is named after a bishop from St Asaph, who was famed for translating the bible into Welsh in the 16th century.

The space has been transformed many times throughout the years, from confectioners, to café, but has remained a pub since 2007.

It is also a dog-friendly pub, providing a dog water fountain and treats free of charge.

In addition, the pub will also take part in a book-swap initiative and will be launching Sunday roasts as part of its menu.

General Manager of The William Morgan, Zoe Platt, said: “Taking this site through an investment has always been a huge personal goal of mine.

“It's taken a long time to build the right team, drive our standards and make sure we execute consistently at a high level, and in the last 12 months, we've finally cracked it!

“I can’t wait to welcome all our locals back to the new-look venue – I couldn’t be more pleased!”

As well as the new look, the pub will now provide extra weekly entertainment, including “Monday Club”, quiz night on a Tuesday, a free pool night on Wednesdays, and live sport across weekends!

Its grand launch party this weekend will include a quiz night and “open the box” on February 22, live music on February 23, and roast dinners on February 25, including bottomless roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
