A PLANNING application has been made by Card Factory concerning a unit at a Rhyl retail park which had been expected to be taken on by Papa Johns.
Card Factory, a retailer of greeting cards and gifts, has applied for advertisement consent (one fascia and one projection sign) at unit 10 of Marina Quay Retail Park.
This was lodged with Denbighshire County Council’s planning committee on January 23, with a decision on whether to approve the application due by March 18.

In August 2022, an application from Papa Johns to make “minor external alterations to the shopfront, side and rear elevations” of unit 10 was approved by the planning committee.
When contacted by the Journal, a spokesperson for independent property consultancy Lyons Thompson Letts said in November: “We have the unit under offer and expecting to complete the lease over the next few weeks.”
The spokesperson could not confirm if this offer has come from Papa Johns, though.
Popular chicken franchise Pepe’s Piri Piri opened at the adjacent unit 11 at Marina Quay Retail Park in November.
