A SALON in Kinmel Bay is once again to set up its own donation point at its premises for Christmas presents for children.

“HAIR @ Lainey Hughes”, on Foryd Road, first introduced the donation point last year, and it proved a resounding success, with more than 200 gifts sent in.

The idea initially came from Cllr Anna Macauley (Towyn & Kinmel Bay Town Council; Kinmel Bay ward), a regular at the salon.

More than 200 Christmas presents donated to Kinmel Bay salon

Nearer to Christmas, the town council itself will pick up all of the donations and distribute them to families in the area.

You can contribute yourself by visiting the salon or by getting in touch at: www.facebook.com/hairatlaineyhughes.

Salon owner Lainey Hughes is hoping for another year of plentiful present donations.

She said: “It’s going to be the same as last year, only with more of a criteria, so we can aim it more specifically at the people who need it.

“It will be aimed at girls and boys aged two to 12, while everything donated needs to be brand new, and preferably nothing that needs batteries should be donated.

“The response we got last year was overwhelming; it was incredible. We got hundreds of presents – scooters, educational books, loads of cuddly toys, hygiene gift sets – everything we got was great.

“The presents have already started coming in!”
