RESIDENTS in Rhuddlan can look forward to a jam-packed programme of events to mark the Coronation. 

Events to look out for include learning the history of Rhuddlan and connections to the royal family, a bring and share lunch, a Coronation buffet and scarecrow contest. 

Groups organising events have received financial support from Rhuddlan Town Council.

A spokesperson for Rhuddlan Town Council said: "Many local Rhuddlan groups and organisations have come together with financial support from Rhuddlan Town Council to put on many events to celebrate the King’s coronation.

"All residents of Rhuddlan and visitors on holiday in Rhuddlan are encouraged to come along and support the events being held on Sunday at St Mary’s Church and the Community Centre and on Monday at the Admirals Filed, Bowls Club and the Allotments. 

"The Local Historical Society are also at Rhuddlan Library every Friday in May with exhibitions, coronation history and free help tracing your family tree.”

Here is what is planned.

Rhuddlan Local Historical Society

Friday 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th of May from 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm until 4.30pm at Rhuddlan Library. 

  • Learn about the history of Rhuddlan and connections to the Royal Family. 
  • Exhibition of historical artifacts and photos 
  • Expert help to trace family tree
  • Free refreshments

Sunday, May 7 from St Mary's Church starting at 11am

  • Childrens games including Teddies Zip Wire from the tower

Monday, May 8 from 10am until 2pm at the Allotments located on Admirals Field (next to bowling club) 

  • Scarecrow contest, decorate for the week prior then bring along your scarecrow by noon
  • Plant sale with refreshments
  • Visit allotments and get gardening advice from allotment holders
