THE Coronation of King Charles III is looming.

The first glimpses of the coronation have been revealed as rehearsals took place in central London in the early hours of this morning (May 3).

Hundreds of soldiers, many on horseback, marched down from Buckingham Palace past Trafalgar Square and Downing Street to Westminster Abbey.

Also getting ready are patriotic revellers across Rhyl and Prestatyn. A number of events are planned in the towns including family fun days and a concert.

Good News Church on Marsh Road will be hosting a "coronation fun day" on Friday, May 5.

Taking place from 10am-4pm, entry to the event is free.

It includes refreshments, a selfie booth, children's toys, parent and baby equipment, carnival games, and much more.

Councillor Diane King, mayor of Rhyl, will be holding a 'Mayor’s May Day' on Saturday, May 6. The event will incorporate celebrations for the Coronation.

This will run from 12pm until 4pm at the Rhyl Events Arena.

The afternoon will feature: Best Dressed Fancy Dress Competition for Kids; Fun Fair Games; Selfie Frame for photos; Giant Deck Chair; Traditional Punch & Judy Shows; DJ and Children’s Entertainer; Themed Dancers; Balloon Modelling; Face Painting and a Play Bus.
