THE Journal/Pioneer enjoyed a fun-filled, immersive visit to the new "VR arena" at an arcade in Towyn yesterday (March 9).

Knightly's Amusements, on Sandbank Road, launched five new virtual reality games at its arcade on March 3, including three which are team-based and two "player vs player".

The team games, available for up to six people at once to play, include fighting off waves of zombies and an army attempting to destroy your castle.

The player vs player games include VR laser tag.

Open to anyone aged seven or older, no experience of VR games is required.

Assisted by Jacob Knightly, of Knightly's Amusements, we took on "Dead Ahead", where participants stand in a barricaded area and destroy zombies attacking their base.

Those not taking part in a VR game can also watch along on the accompanying television screens.

Previously, Jacob told the Journal: “It’s gone well; we’re really happy with it. Everybody seems to be enjoying it, and we’ve had a few good reviews so far.

“We’ve had people ranging from all ages; we had an 80-year-old playing ‘Dead Ahead’ the other day!

“Everyone’s been very positive about it. We’re the first place in North Wales to have anything like this.”
