A QUALIFIED life coach and Reiki master has opened a new beauty and wellbeing salon in Rhyl.

Keeley Roberts has opened “Positivity Beauty and Wellbeing” with her eldest daughter, 22-year-old Monica, on Windsor Street.

Rhyl residents may know Keeley as the former owner of “Absolute Serenity”, a beauty and holistic salon which she closed in 2017 due to her daughter’s ill health.

Having lived in Rhyl for almost two decades, Keeley is delighted to be back in business, after “Positivity Beauty and Wellbeing” celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday, September 7.

Keeley said: “Finally, we’re back up and running, so I’m very, very excited.

“We do all nail and beauty treatments, and I do Reiki, massages, facials - I’m a Reiki master, so I teach Reiki as well, and I’m a qualified life coach.

“It’s all to do with the mind, body and soul.

“We love Rhyl, and a few people think we’re a little bit mad opening right now, close to a recession – but we’ve been inundated by old clients.”

Reiki, which Keeley has been involved with for 17 years, is a Japanese form of energy healing; a type of “alternative medicine”.

Reiki practitioners use “palm healing”, or “hands-on healing”, through which a "universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient to encourage emotional or physical healing.

In 2019, Keeley also set up a Facebook group called “The Positivity Queen”, which currently has roughly 2,400 members.

This aimed to provide a safe, supportive online community for people to reach out and ask for support, and to share positivity, love and have fun.

Keeley added: “We just had a little opening evening (on September 7), from 4-6.30pm. We gave out chocolates and Buck’s Fizz, and let everyone come and have a little nosey.

“It’s gone alright so far; we’re just trying to build up our client base again now.

“I’m quite busy, but my daughter was in paid employment, so she’s got to build up her side of it. But it’s ace just being able to work with her again, really.

“She’s 22, but she’s worked with me since she was about 11, so she’s quite experienced!”

“Positivity Beauty and Wellbeing” is open from Tuesday until Saturday.

Opening on each of those days at 9.30am, it closes at 2.30pm, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays, when it remains open until 7pm.
