A SHOP in Rhyl offering a wide range of new and pre-owned items is to close almost a year after it opened its doors.

Rainbow’s End, on Wellington Road, is to cease trading at the end of September, with owner Ali Griffin citing lack of footfall as a key factor in her decision.

The store, which sells such items as clothing, toys, books, vinyl, CDs, DVDs, comics, games, jewellery and bric-a-brac, was opened by Ali last October.

Ali, who lives in Prestatyn after moving from Staffordshire nearly three years ago, said: “I'm closing as sadly, there isn't enough footfall, resulting in not enough trade.

“When I viewed last September, it was very busy, but I guess it must have been the last few holidaymakers.

“I've barely covered my rent and utilities, and some months I've had to top up the rent.

“My last day of trading will be approximately September 26-27.

“I have to vacate by September 30, and any remaining stock will be boxed up and sold at car boots.

“I never thought I'd struggle in Rhyl, to be honest; it's such a shame as I seem to be just out of the way here.”
