A STANDOUT post box topper created by Rhyl's lockdown yarn bomber has disappeared.

This was the 18th colourful hat that Rachel Williamson had made. It featured 'Dave' the seagull and was situated on the post box at the top of Queen Street.

It is believed it was taken sometime between Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7.

Rachel said: "It is a pity as that was my favourite one so far and had only been out for three days.

"It took me four full days to make from approximately 5am to 11.30pm. It was by far the most popular so far and it had given a lot of people a lot of pleasure.

"It makes me really sad that something that was put there to cheer up the community has been selfishly taken.

"Should the person/s return Dave then I am quite happy to make them a seagull if that was their reason for taking him."

Rachel, who has been knitting for 50 years, has been creating rainbow and vibrant coloured hats for postboxes during the lockdown - much to the delight of residents.
