A JUNIOR rugby team had a day to remember at RGC’s recent clash with Bridgend Ravens at Stadiwm Zip World.

Rhyl Rugby Club Mini Dragons were lucky enough to be invited to the Pre-Match Engagement, which was made possible by Welsh Rugby Union Regional Development Officers Alan James and Rachel Taylor at ‘The Barn’ located behind the stadium.

The event saw the aspiring stars honing skills they have already learned and learning new skills during age related and rugby orientated games, deigned to challenge and develop each player. These games, made use of the inflatable cage, obstacle courses and teamwork exercises.

The second phase was to provide RGC and the Ravens with a guard of honour as the two teams ran out onto the pitch, and they also got the chance top watch the action up close.

They also participated in a special parade during the half time interval.

A club spokesman, said: “All the children loved the experience and we had some very positive feedback from the parents, the development officers delivered a fantastic session for the children and this was a fantastic opportunity for them.”

Anyone interested in joining the Mini Dragons, should attend the training sessions which are held in the gym Christ Church Primary School, Fforddlas in Rhyl on a Wednesday evening between 4 and 6pm.
