KINMEL Bay’s senior side picked up some much-needed time on the pitch during their 2-2 home draw with Llansannan.

Both sides will take their place in the NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division next season – whenever it gets underway – with the two sides taking plenty of positive from a hugely competitive affair.

The Bay got off to a strong start and went ahead in the first half when prolific striker Kieran Ellis managed to find his way past visiting custodian Luke Jones, who pulled off two exceptional stops prior to the opener.

Both sides spurned good chances during the remainder of the first half, but Tom Lewis’ men came out with a renewed sense of purpose after the interval and got their just rewards when Gruff Roberts beat several tackles before firing a powerful drive into the net to level matters.

This was followed by a controversial penalty decision that went the way of the away side, and Liam Jones held his nerve to convert from the spot and give Sannan the lead for the first time.

There was still time for more drama, which arrived in the closing stages as Ellis pounced yet again for his second of the afternoon to ensure both sides had something to show from an entertaining friendly at Y Morfa.

The likes of Luke Wilmot, Ryan Cunningham, Cory Owen and Paul Brady all caught the eye for the hosts, who welcome Llanfairfechan Town next Saturday for another non-competitive contest.
