CPD Y Rhyl 1879 manager Gareth Thomas has made two more signings ahead of a possible season start in the New Year.

The newly formed club is expected to make a bold promotion bid in NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division during their inaugural campaign, with Thomas working hard since his appointment of bringing in the right blend of youth and experience to make their dreams a reality.

This has seen plenty if new faces arrive at Belle Vue in recent weeks, with Ryan Hassett and Toby Sylvester becoming the latest players to join the ranks.

Both have impressed during training sessions over the longest pre-season in recent memory, with the Football Association of Wales offering no indication as to when competitive action can resume due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sylvester is a commanding defender who has been part of the Prestatyn Sports set-up in recent years and is another who boasts plenty of experience playing at a higher level.

Hassett joins from former Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title contenders Abergele and his versatility will provide another welcome boost to a squad of which much is expected this season.

Thomas, said: “Toby is another player that has been with us since we started our pre-season sessions, he will be a great addition to the squad.

"Ryan is a versatile player, who is strong in the tackle, he joins us after training with the club during the extended sessions, and we are delighted to have him on board."

The club is still awaiting clarification as to when the season will begin. The NWCFA has already cancelled cup competitions to full focus on league matters providing they get the green light from the Welsh Government and FAW to do so in the coming weeks.
