CPD Y Rhyl 1879 manager Gareth Thomas has bolstered his squad with two new signings ahead of the new season.

The newly formed club is expected to make a big splash in the NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division during their inaugural campaign, although an actual start date appears some way off at this juncture due to the ongoing implications surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.

Thomas and his staff continue to work hard behind the scenes, with the boss securing the services of highly touted prospects Macauley Taylor and Casey Faulkner.

Both players arrive at Belle Vue from nearby Prestatyn Town and become the latest squad members to depart the Seasiders’ following the shock resignation of manager Neil Gibson.

Faulkner is a promising full-back who boasts a wealth of experience a JD Cymru North level, with Taylor set to further boost the club’s attacking options whenever competitive action gets underway.

Manager Gareth Thomas, said: “Macauley is a young striker who has electric pace and lots of goals in him. An exciting addition to the squad.

"Casey is an energetic versatile player. He is another young local talent we are looking forward to working with."

Their latest signings further enhance the club’s prospects of securing promotion at the earliest possible opportunity, with officials still looking for financial investment to help secure the long-term future of the storied ground.

A price of £450,000 has been agreed by owner David Butters, which the club is hoping to raise to secure one of the most impressive facilities in the Welsh domestic system.
