PRESTATYN Sports have a new home after finally coming to a successful conclusion regarding negotiations with Denbighshire county council.

The NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division side confirmed that they have agreed to a 25-year lease for The Meadows playing fields after seven-year discussions with the council and Prestatyn High School.

This is another exciting boost for the club, who called time on their incredible stint playing at Gronant that saw them rise quickly through the Welsh domestic pyramid.

An exceptional effort from club officials and volunteers has already taken place at the site over the past four months to get the ground up to Tier 4 standard in accordance to the new Football Association of Wales regulations.

A Prestatyn Sports spokesman, said: “The vision behind it was to bring the club back together with everyone seniors and juniors playing in one site. To create something proper for everyone at the club, not council rented.

“A place where when you play junior football you come through and play senior football, same pitch, same facilities, same badge, for the same club.

The work that's been carried out there over the last 4 months is nothing short of a miracle. With a lot of the work carried out by the committee, management, players and a lot of very generous local tradesmen and business.

“We started with just a field with and a dream, and through hard work, time away from families, a lot of sacrifices we finished with facilities that have guaranteed Tier 4 status, better facilities for everyone at the club, that's ours for the club to grow over the next 25 years.”

Sports are looking to make a significant impression in what looks to be a highly competitive Tier 4 next season. They have got the majority of last season’s squad back on board for their upcoming challenge, and they have also signed some prominent players who will also aid their cause significantly.
