MELIDEN have further bolstered their squad with the eye-catching signing of Dan Porter.

The NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division side have been busy during the pre-season period building a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign, and Porter is another notable addition who brings a wealth of experience at a higher standard.

The versatile left-footer, who can operate almost anywhere on the pitch, has previously turned out for the likes of Ruthin Town and Llandyrnog United, with the player providing tremendous creativity in the final third.

This is the latest in a series of impressive squad committals at The Miners, who have ambitions plans to move the club forward next season and beyond.

Another impressive re-signing is Chris Wright, a highly rated goalkeeper who was in high demand during the summer before eventually agreeing to stay on at the club.

Wright is widely regarded as one of the best shot-stoppers anywhere in the region, and this represents another big statement of intent from the club.

They also announced the return of club legend Paul Wellburn to the set-up, which rounded off the latest batch of signings from the Tier 4 outfit.

Meliden are now officially back in training as preparations gather pace for their return to competitive action, with the season featuring plenty of exciting derby encounters against the likes of Rhuddlan Town, Prestatyn Sports and CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
