KINMEL Bay FC are back in training ahead of the NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division season.

The ambitious side will be part of an exciting looking division as part of the incoming regulations from the Football Association of Wales, and their preparations began in earnest last week after receiving clearance as part of the governing body’s return to football phase two.

Their training has been aided by the installation of a new MUGA G2 surface at Y Morfa Leisure Centre, which will provide a significant boost for the set-up, which runs senior, reserve and youth sides.

The senior squad made a fantastic start to life in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two last season before tailing off late on. And they will be bolstered by the return of Andy Thomas to the first-team fold.

Thomas played a leading role in the club’s rise to prominence alongside Leon Field and Ryan Turner, which resulted in the team winning the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title in convincing fashion.

They established themselves in the fourth-tier under Thomas before he stepped down, but after some time away he now makes a welcome return to the set-up going forward to work alongside Frank Woods and John Hall next season.

The club is looking to attract new members for any age group, particularly youngsters starting on the ladder, boys or girls, men’s and ladies who want to train or play competitively.

Kinmel Bay will be part of a hugely competitive league next season and can look forward to local derbies against the likes of Rhuddlan Town, Meliden, CPD Y Rhyl 1879 and Prestatyn Sports.
