PRESTATYN Sports have made a huge statement of intent with some impressive signings ahead of the new season.

The club will participate in the NWCFA Tier 4 (East) Premier Division next season, and manager Sion Williams has pulled off some eye-catching new arrivals to bolster their chances of moutning a title push.

The most notable addition to the set-up is Lee Beattie, who boasts top-flight experience with Prestatyn Town and has achieved a considerable amount during his career.

Beattie is an experienced forward who can make things happen in the final third, and he will be boosted at the business end of the pitch by Andy Booker, who has played for Denbigh Town, Colwyn Bay and Rhuddlan Town in recent years.

Another talented player to join the fold is Sam Brewerton, with Antonio Jacovelli, Jared Hughes and Chris Kelly also lending their support to Sports’ cause next term.

Williams and John Hargreaves managed to secure the services of two former squad members in Gareth Wales and Chris Lowe, who both played a leading role in the club’s incredible rise through the Welsh domestic pyramid up to Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One level.

A number of last season’s squad will also be returning, including skipper Shane Middleman and vice-captain Daniel Grindley.

Sports’ talisman James Harper turned down offers from a higher standard and from Tier 4 to commit his immediate future to the club, which represents another big boost for the squad.

Ryan Jones, Steven Ashe, Johnny Harkin, Cy Williams, Sam Herd, Kris Owen, Mark Price, Michael Jones and Ryan Fortune are others who chose to re-commit once the registration process opened, leaving Williams and Hargreaves with a formidable-looking group that is more than capable of challenging for honours when competitive action gets underway.

Club officials are also final stages of plans regarding a new playing venue for next season, which is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
