MELIDEN have begun to shape their squad ahead of the new campaign with a host of signings.

The Miners have been allocated a position in the NWCFA Tier 4 Premier Division (East) next season as part of the new structure changes implemented by the Football Association of Wales.

This will see them take on some formidable sides following their promotion from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division, and the new management team of Gareth Jones and Simon New have wasted no time in getting some talented player to commit.

One notable arrival to the set-up is Ashley New, who has played for the club previously and brings a wealth of experience to the fold.

James Cairns, Finley Ellam, Alex Lloyd and Tom Fletcher will also be part of the squad next season, in addition to the welcome return of Hayden Kivell following a spell away from the club.

The Miners will also have the services of Scott Stewart, Jake Hughes and Liam Hughes to call upon during the campaign, which will be full of exciting derbies against established sides who are also looking to make their mark.

Meliden will be taking on close rivals such as Prestatyn Sports, The North Football Association and Rhuddlan Town, with the club also set to clash with title favourites CPD Y Rhyl 1879 during their inaugural season.
