CPD Y Rhyl 1879 have revealed their new-look badge design as plans continue to progress ahead of next season.

Former Rhyl FC officials have wasted no time in forming a new club after beginning to wind up proceedings for the Lilywhites after failing to find the £175,000 needed to stay afloat in JD Cymru North.

The likes of former Lilies’ managing director Adam Roche is now part of the new phoenix club, with ex-chairman Paul Higginson also staying involved.

The new badge is not dissimilar to that used by Rhyl FC over the years, which “encompasses our footballing heritage and signposts Rhyl FC’s former glories with a symbolic lilywhite front and centre and it also signifies a brand new era with our alignment to our proud Welsh nation where we shall be competing”.

This is the latest in a series of developments involving the club, who have now retained Belle Vue as their base after a head-scratching U-turn from ground owner David Butters.

They are also inviting applications for a new first-team manager after Edie Maurice-Jones ruled himself out of returning after a phone discussion with chairman Tom Jamieson.

A club spokesman, said: “We are really excited to share our new CPD Y Rhyl 1879 badge that will grace our historic first home and away kit during our debut season to be played at our new home recently announced as the famous Belle Vue stadium.

“This design is to compliment our Rhyl Fans Association (RFA) ballot outcome in deciding our club’s new name CPD Y Rhyl 1879.

We are really proud to be a Welsh football club and wanted to signpost our nationality with a clear colour change and the inclusion of our patriotic red dragon.

“This new club ethos will be something that all club officials and volunteers will expect everyone involved at our new club to follow, both on and off the pitch.

“As a club would specifically like to thank RFA member Rhiannon Williams and our friend Nik Mesney from Connah’s Quay Nomads who offered their support.”
