PRESTATYN Town’s crunch JD Welsh Cup semi-final clash against The New Saints now has a neutral venue.

The final four contest between the Seasiders’ and the all-conquering full-timers will be held at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, home of JD Cymru Premier basement dwellers Airbus UK Broughton.

It will take place on Sunday, April 5 (1pm) and will be shown live on S4C Sgorio’s Facebook page via live stream.

Scott Ruscoe’s side are the defending cup holders and are looking to win their eighth triumph in the competition.

They have enjoyed a supreme spell of dominance over the last decade but are facing a real fight to defend their league title this year.

Saints are currently four point behind pacesetting Connah’s Quay Nomads following their dramatic 2-2 home draw against Barry Town United on Friday evening.

Despite their dip in form this term, the semi-final represents a significant challenge for the JD Cymru North leaders as they look to become one of the only ever second tier sides to make the final.

Neil Gibson’s men are looking to reach their first final since 2013, when they won the competition after a memorable 2-1 win over favourites Bangor City at Wrexham AFC’s Racecourse ground.

Town booked their place in the hat with a narrow 1-0 success at Flint Town United, with a second half goal from Jack Kenny on 52 minutes enough to see them progress.

This is the third time they have bested the Silkmen this season and the second time in 10 days they downed Niall McGuinness’ men by a 1-0 score-line.
