RHYL midfielder Tommy Creamer has been rewarded for his outstanding recent form with a special award.

The summer signing from JD Cymru North rivals Conwy Borough has been in blistering form since the turn of the year and was named the second tier Player of the Month for January.

Creamer netted five times during the month, including a sensational hat trick in the Lilywhites’ 7-1 victory over basement dwellers Llanfair United.

He also found the target in a 5-3 loss to Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, provided an assist for Mason Blackwell-Jones in the Lilies’ 2-1 win at Ruthin Town and also found the net during a JD Welsh Cup fourth round encounter at Newtown.

The talented playmaker has made the most of his opportunity after taking his time to settle at the Educate Group Stadium, but is now considered to be one of the first names on Eddie Maurice-Jones’ team-sheet.

Former Rhyl boss Niall McGuinness, now in-charge of Flint Town United, scooped the JD Cymru North Manager of the Month for January after a standout few weeks for the Silkmen.

They began the month by drawing 2-2 at Porthmadog, but United bounced back in fine style to securing a league triumph over Bangor City and a superb JD Welsh Cup success against Colwyn Bay to book their place in the quarter finals.

McGuinness will be looking to avenge defeat to Prestatyn Town in the last eight in front of the S4C Sgorio cameras on Friday after his side all-but conceded the title to the Seasiders’ with a 1-0 reverse on their travels last weekend.
