LLANSANNAN booked their place in the NWCFA Junior Cup quarter finals with a 3-1 success at Rhos United.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division championship contenders came from a goal down early on to secure a spot in the last eight, where Tom Lewis’ side will take on either Llandudno Amateurs Reserves or Trearddur Bay Bulls for a place in the final four.

Despite the eventual result it was the hosts who drew first blood when a Tom Edgley effort found its way past Luke Jones to break the deadlock.

This was met by a swift response from the visitors, who levelled matters immediately following the restart when a nice passage of play was finished off by Keiran Kendrick.

After the break saw the away side get their noses in front for the first time on 71 minutes thanks to a powerful strike from the experienced Joe Maguire, and they wrapped things up late on when a quick break presented a chance to prolific forward Geraint Jones, who made no mistake with the finish to complete the scoring.

Llysfaen caused a major upset to extend their unbeaten record this season with a sensational 4-3 win at Nefyn United.

The away side got off to a blistering start that put them in a commanding position, with Sean Sheridan despatching all four of their goals against the Gwynedd League outfit to extend what has been a memorable campaign so far for the talented forward.

Credit to the home side, who made a fight of things late on, but despite Steve Jones (2) and Dylan Sion Jones finding the net it was not enough to prevent a major giant-killing from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One leaders.
