PRESTATYN Town have made a notable addition with the appointment of Richard Williams as commercial director.

The runaway JD Cymru North leaders confirmed the news following a lengthy application process, with Williams taking up the position with immediate effect.

Williams will be tasked with enhancing all aspects of the club from a commercial and sponsorship perspective, in addition to “exploring other avenues” of revenue for the ambitious set-up.

The new arrival will take over this responsibility from Denise Dale and Tony O’Reilly, who have been filling the void for a considerable period of time before a formal appointment was made.

Martin Jones, joint-general manager at Prestatyn Town, said "Richard's appointment is another vital step towards getting the club back to the higher echelons of Welsh football.

“He ticked all the boxes required by the club in that he is local, shares the club's vision for the future and has a superb business background.

“We are confident in his ability to enhance the club's commercial activities and that he will bring his drive, enthusiasm and experience to bear. We are really looking forward to working with Richard “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank both Denise Dale and Tony O'Reilly who have taken on this role in the past year.”

This is the latest in a series of positive moves behind the scenes from the club, who secured new ownership in the form of Neal and Salih Colakoglu, who have invested heavily in all areas of the club with a view to getting them back to prominence.
