THERE was only one clear winner in Sunday’s Nick Beer 10k in Llandudno – Storm Ciara!
Race organisers called off the event because of the risk in allowing 700 runners to tackle the Great Orme in the severe winds.
It was a disappointment for the many members of Prestatyn Running Club entered, as it is a popular event.
Conditions were very favourable the previous day when 14 members turned out in the Nova and eight travelled to Bangor for the Penrhyn run.

It is to be hoped that this weekend sees better weather for another popular race - the Village Bakery half-marathon in Wrexham.
