KINMEL Bay’s impressive recent form came to an abrupt halt as they were thrashed 6-1 at Llandudno Amateurs.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One side saw their hopes of a top five finish suffer another blow with an uncharacteristic display on their travels, and they will be hoping for better fortune during their next outing at home to Aberffraw on Saturday.

An imposing start from the home side saw them break the deadlock on 13 minutes thanks to a neat finish from Ryan Rowlands, but the Bay bounced back midway through the half and restored parity to the score-line through skipper Ashley Wood with 24 on the clock.

Their joy proved to be fleeting as Aidan Bell turned in a chance to put Sandy Malone’s men back in front on 27 minutes, and they increased their lead on 35 when another good spell of possession was finished off by Aaron Rodgers.

After the break saw the Bay try valiantly to get themselves back into the contest but were unable to convert any of the chances that came their way, and they were undone again on 80 minutes when Rowlands notched his second of the afternoon to secure the points.

Another good spell from the hosts saw them achieve a fifth goal five minutes from time through Scott Court, and they put the exclamation point on proceedings in stoppage time with an impressive finish from Rodgers to round off the scoring.
