PWLLHELI booked their place in the Lock Stock Challenge Cup final thanks to a superb 2-1 victory at Y Felinheli.

The ambitious club now have a realistic chance of silverware at the end of the season after overcoming the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two title chasers in difficult conditions that made things extremely testing for both sides throughout.

An impressive start from the visitors saw them open the scoring on 18 minutes when Paul Lewis was sent through on goal before despatching the chance into the net.

Both teams missed opportunities to impact the score further during the remainder of the first half, but Pwll’ crucially extended their cushion moments after the interval when a neat passage of play presented an opportunity to Dafydd Gwyn Hughes, to deliver when it mattered to make it a two-goal game on 50 minutes.

This was met by a swift reaction from the home side, who halved the deficit shortly after the restart when Ifan Ynyr hit the target on 52 minutes.

A barrage of pressure from the hosts followed for the rest of the tie, but the away side dug deep to see out the game and secure a place in the showcase at the end of the campaign.
