GLAN Conwy have made a significant addition to their squad in the form of Colwyn Bay youngster Morgan Owen.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One outfit secured the services of the gifted midfielder on loan, which will be mutually beneficial for both parties going forward.

Owen has made 14 appearances for the Seagulls’ so far this term, mainly from the bench, with the player now aiming to get back to full fitness after a period of time out through injury that hampered his initial progress after joining the Bay this summer.

He also netted his first senior goal for the club during their 2-0 win at Corwen in October.

Bay manager Craig Hogg, said: "Unfortunately Morgan had a lay off through injury and now needs regular game time to get back to peak fitness.

"We feel that him joining Glan Conway is right for all parties and we look forward to having him back once his loan spell is completed there."

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young prospects anywhere in the region and he joins a Glan side that have been one of the third-tiers surprise packages so far, with Howard Vaughan’s newly promoted side occupying fourth spot after winning eight and drawing three of their opening 17 contests.

Hogg is hoping to bring in some fresh faces during the January transfer window, adding: "Further statements regarding player transfer activity will be made as and when it may happen.”
