RHYL FC coach Andy Wilmot was full of praise for his side following their 4-1 home win over Buckley Town.

The Lilywhites’ ended a run of two consecutive JD Cymru North defeat in dominant fashion at the Educate Group Stadium, and Eddie Maurice-Jones’ side will look to take this positive momentum into their next outing at a resurgent Porthmadog on Saturday.

Wilmot, said: “That sort of result has been coming for a couple of weeks and the whole group has contributed in difficult conditions, so I am made up for everyone.

“The squad has been tested as we have taken a few knocks recently, but the youngsters stepped up to the plate and more than held their own.”

The home side got off to the best possible start and went ahead on ten minutes when a surging run from Cai Owen presented a chance to James Murphy, who no mistake with the finish to break the deadlock.

A stunning goal-line clearance from Owen denied Town a certain leveller midway through the half, and this proved to be crucial as the Lilies’ went straight up the other end and increased their tally when Arek Piskorski despatched his first of the evening following an error by Lewis Hone.

Murphy, Piskorski and Sam Molyneux all spurned good opportunities during the remainder of the first period, and this same pattern of play continued after the break which saw Maurice-Jones’ side all-but secure the points on 63 minutes.

One again it was Piskorski who proved to be the difference-maker, producing a fine individual run before firing into the bottom corner to secure his brace.

The visitors did manage a consolation on 75 minutes that arrived courtesy of Jake Roberts, but the Lilies’ had the final say when Piskorski took advantage of more hesitant defending to convert another chance and seal his hat trick.
