CAERWYS 0
ACTON 2
A LACKLUSTRE display by Caerwys saw more league points lost on a wet and bitterly cold winter’s day.
Having lost keeper Seb Czubaj to Corwen, youngster Rhys Williams was again given another chance between the sticks.
He will be disappointed with conceding a goal after three minutes when Niall Challoner’s tame header from six yards should really have been kept out.
Caerwys did try to get back into the game, but they rarely tested the Acton goal.
Jon Edmonds' shot from 20 yards out went wide and Dylan Mackie should have done better.
At the other end, Acton missed two point-blank chances, which went over the bar from close range.
Caerwys supporters were expecting a better show after the break, but time after time attacks broke down due to poor distribution and no killer instinct in front of goal.
Challoner was Acton’s best player and the big striker sealed the points in the 92nd minute with a deserved second goal following a sustained spell of pressure.
Caerwys need to improve all round with team communication, passing and movement if they are to make any progress at this level.
