LLYSFAEN close the gap on the North Football Association with a thumping 9-1 success at Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.

Another strong performance from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One title contenders saw them move to within five points of the early pacesetters with a game in hand, with Sean Sheridan turning in a mesmerising performance in front of goal to end the contest with four strikes to his name.

Rhys Kennedy and Nathan Russell also contributed significantly to their side’s cause with a brace apiece, and Dan Ashton hit a solitary attempt to round off the scoring.

Betws-y-Coed now occupy third position in the standings thanks to a resounding 6-1 win at Henllan.

Sam Llewelyn was in red-hot form for the visitors and hit a superb hat-trick, with Mathew Lathan (2) and Callum Jones also on target during the rout.

Llandudno Amateurs Reserves’ resurgence continued with an impressive 5-2 home victory over Rhyl All Stars.

Goals from Sean Sharp, Matty Roberts and Stan Farrell gave the hosts a comfortable cushion at the interval, and despite John Silva and Jamie Hughes netting for the All Stars after the break, further efforts from Morgan Davies and Sam Maddocks secured three points for the recently formed side.

Another team that have shown significant improvement in recent weeks are Denbigh Development, who came from behind to seal a 3-2 home triumph over Machno United.

Craig Morris’ side found themselves behind heading into the dying stages thanks to efforts from Dion Lloyd and Harry Kirkham, but John Lewis and Zak Ellis both converted chances in the final seven minutes to tip the scales in their favour.
