ANOTHER Rhyl FC squad member has been shown the door by manager Eddie Maurice-Jones.

Leo Riley, who joined the JD Cymru North side this summer from Airbus Broughton, has reportedly been released by the club, according to sources.

The midfielder is good friends with striker Asa Hamilton, who departed the club recently.

Riley was one of the standout performers for Huws Gray Alliance champions Airbus last term, making 20 league appearances and scoring four goals.

A former trainee at Tranmere Rovers, Riley was also part of the Academy squads at Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool during the initial stages of his career before making a move to Llandudno in 2015.

He made 40 top-flight appearances for Tudno until he was acquired by the Wingmakers, and he made a handful of starts for the Lilies’ this season but has found himself on the fringes over the last fortnight in favour of midfield combination Gethin Maxwell and Dave McIntrye.

Riley was not named in the squad during the Lilywhites’ disappointing 3-0 home reverse at the hands of Colwyn Bay, a result that leaves them in fourth spot and 11 points behind runaway leaders Prestatyn Town.
