THE North Football Association made it six straight wins in Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One with a thrilling 4-3 home win over Henllan.

The early leaders were made to work hard for their latest triumph against a spirited visiting side, who saw Alex Thomas fire in a treble during another clinical spell in front of goal.

This outstanding effort was not enough to secure a share of the spoils for the away side, with Josh Evans, Nathan Griffiths, Paul Jones and Steve Falvey all hitting the target for the title hopefuls to move them eight points clear of Llysfaen having played two games more than their championship rivals.

Bottom side Rhyl All Stars finally picked up their first win of the season thanks to a 5-2 triumph at Penrhyn Bay Dragons.

The visitors went into the break a goal to the good thanks to a neat finish from Simon Roberts on 36 minutes, but they were pegged back after the interval as Morgan Groom pounced to level matters with 52 on the clock.

This was met by an extremely strong response from the visitors, who pulled clear thanks to a ruthless second half performance in front of goal from Mehnid Barsev, who hit a 26 minutes hat-trick to lead his side to glory.

Rick Roberts also managed to find the net for the All Stars late on, with Paul Jones hitting the target for another consolation five minutes from time.

Betws-y-Coed moved up to fifth in the standings with a 3-0 success at Llanfairfechan Town Reserves thanks to goals from Dan Spruce (2) and Jon Owen.
