THE Northern Football Association extended their perfect start to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One season with a 3-0 home win over Betws-y-Coed.

The newly formed side have won each of their opening five games in convincing fashion, scoring 28 and conceding just five to leave them five points clear of Llysfaen having played a game more.

Jordan Taylor got them off to the perfect start with a superb strike on 24 minutes to break the deadlock, and things got even better after the break when Paul Jones pounced to double their advantage with 54 on the clock.

Taylor proved to be a thorn in the visitors’ side all afternoon and he rounded off an exceptional individual display on 74 minutes when his second of the contest to complete the scoring.

Machno United piled more misery on basement dwellers Rhyl All Stars thanks to a thrilling 6-3 home triumph.

Rhidian Williams fired a brace for the home side either side of half time to put them in the ascendancy, with Dion Lloyd, Ben Mullender and Harry Kirkham also on target from a United perspective.

A hat-trick from Joel Williams was not enough to prevent Denbigh Development from falling to a 6-4 loss at Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.

The talented youngster was at the top of his game for Craig Morris’ men in the ten-goal thriller, but the away side were undone by efforts from Elliot Croston (2), Simon Owen (2), Liam Lewis and Iestyn Thomas.
