LLANDUDNO Amateurs picked up their first away win of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two season with a thrilling 5-4 success at Pentraeth.

Sandy Malone’s newly promoted side fell behind after just four minutes when Jack Walsh found the net with virtually the first opportunity of the contest, but the visitors responded well and went ahead with two goals in quick succession from Nathan Bridge and Steve Penrose on 14 and 16 respectively.

The home side dusted themselves off and restored parity to the score on 24 minutes when Walsh despatched his second of the afternoon, and things went from bad to worse for the Amateurs when Gethin Moore made the most of some space to finish well.

This joy proved to be short-lived as Scott Court levelled proceedings for the away side immediately following the restart, and a dramatic first period continued on 33 and 35 minutes when Aidan Bell and Aled Jones traded strikes to leave the score 4-4 at the break.

The tempo noticeably slowed after the break but the visitors did manage to get their noses in front for the final time through Luke Mahoney midway through the half, and despite being reduced to ten men late on they managed to hold on for a morale-boosting three points.
