KINMEL Bay were unable to cause a shock in the FAW Trophy in their 2-0 home loss at the hands of Llanrwst United.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side were left rueing a poor first half against their third-tier rivals in their early cup exit, which saw them two goals behind at the interval thanks to efforts from Callum Parry and Sam Thomas.

Despite their best effort on home soil in the second period, the Bay were unable to find a crucial way back into the tie against the Rwsters’ and had to settle for a spirited loss for their efforts.

They will now turn their attentions back to league action this Saturday during a trip to Mochdre Sports, who currently sit third-from-bottom in the standings after winning just one of their opening five games.

Another side from the region that exited the Trophy were Prestatyn Sports, who emerged from their trip to Coedpoeth United with a 4-2 reverse.

Sion Williams and John Hargreaves’ side were unable to put their disappointing league form to one side and kickstart their campaign on their travels, with the Division One basement dwellers hoping for better fortune this Saturday during their trick looking trip to title challengers Llanrug United.
