LLANDUDNO Albion suffered their first defeat of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One season with a 2-1 reverse at Glan Conwy.

The newly promoted side picked up their third win in four contests to start the season, and they held a two-goal cushion at the break after goals from Conor Davies and Ben Jarvis put them in the ascendancy.

After the break saw Darren Jones’ men get themselves back into the contest through a Luke Smith strike on 78 minutes, but they were unable to claim a share of the spoils late on.

Holyhead Hotspur’s dominant start to the season continued with a resounding 4-0 rout at Llanberis.

A hat-trick from the in-form Rob Jones did the majority of the damage, with Dewi Rhys Thomas also on target for Darren Garmey’s championship contenders.

Denbigh Town striker Jake Walker was the start of the show during their 3-1 victory at Llanrwst United, with the former St Asaph City standout firing in a treble to lead his side to success.

Credit to the Rwsters, who can count themselves unfortunate to only have a Sam Jones consolation to show for their efforts after a spirited display against high-profile opposition.

A brace from Richard Jones was the highlight of Penrhyndeudraeth’s eye-catching 3-1 triumph at Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs, with Liam Willingham and Osian Jones on the score-sheet for Mynydd Llandegai in their 2-1 home win over Llanrug United.

St Asaph City picked up a point on their travels with a 2-2 stalemate at Greenfield thanks to goals from Mike Hargreave and Liam Grayson, and Nantlle Vale were held to a 1-1 home draw with last season’s runners-up Bodedern Athletic.

Sion Jenkins put the visitors ahead with a well-taken effort on the half hour mark, but Vale fought right until the death and got their reward when Gavin Edwards converted a chance two minutes from time.
