PWLLHELI’s unbeaten start to the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two season continued with a thrilling 5-4 win at Barmouth and Dyffryn United.
The fourth-tier championship rivals were involved in a pulsating encounter that went the way of the visitors, with Dafydd Gwyn playing a leading role in their overall triumph.
Gwyn was in clinical mood throughout the contest and was rewarded for an exceptional individual display with a hat-trick, with former Porthmadog manager Craig Papirnyk and new signing Paul Lewis also finding the net for the away side.
The Magpies put up a spirited fight before narrowly falling to their second consecutive loss, with goals from Rob Griffiths, Shane Jones, Danny Fisher and Andrew Papirnyk almost securing them a share of the spoils.
Amlwch Town left it extremely late before eventually securing a 2-0 home win against Aberffraw.
With the contest heading towards a stalemate, Danny Jones and Luke McGivern popped up with the crucial strikes in the final minutes to give the hosts a valuable three points.
