PRESTATYN Town continued their pre-season preparations with a 4-0 win at Brickfield Rangers.

The Seasiders’ began the contest on the front foot and went ahead with just five minutes on the clock thanks to a fine free kick from Ben Maher that found its way into the top corner.

Maher had a golden chance to notch another when Alec Williams was brought down for a penalty on seven minutes, but the playmaker saw his attempt saved and the danger was averted.

The visitors did manage to extend their cushion soon after, with skipper Alex Jones on hand to fire in a first-time strike on 13 minutes.

Things got even better for the visitors immediately following the restart when lovely forward Jordan Davies produced a superb piece of individual skill before eventually striking a left-footed effort into the corner with 14 gone.

The tempo slowed considerably following the third which allowed the home side to regroup, but they fell further behind just before the break when Williams was the latest beneficiary of some neat approach play when he drilled a volley into the net from inside the area.

Manager Neil Gibson made a plethora of changes at the interval to give the entire squad some minutes ahead of the start of their expected FAW Tier 2 North League title challenge, which halted momentum considerably with no further goals scored during the second 45 minutes.
