RHYL have bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of Ben Burrows.

The Lilywhites’ confirmed the move for the versatile defender on Friday, with Burrows arriving at the Educate Group Stadium from JD Welsh Premier League side Cefn Druids.

The 20-year-old can play in either defence or midfield and spent the majority of last season at Gresford Athletic in the Huws Gray Alliance, making 23 appearances for Steve Halliwell’s men.

Director of football Eddie Maurice-Jones, said: "I enquired about Ben a few seasons ago and ever since he has been on my radar.

“Ben is a versatile player and has a great understanding for the game. Ben is defensively solid and has great ability going forward.

“I'm positive he'll reap the benefits and suit our style of play."

Prior to his move to the Ancients, Burrows was a member of the Wrexham Academy system and produced a series of impressive displays for both their youth and reserve sides.

He was on the fringes of the first team squad before he eventual release in 2017, and he now joins a Lillies’ squad that are looking to mount a promotion bid next term.

This is the latest positive squad move from the management team during the summer, with the club securing the high-profile signings of striker Asa Thomas and full-back Steve Thomas from second tier champions Airbus Broughton and Llandudno respectively.

A host of current squad members have also committed to the club for the forthcoming campaign.
