PRESTATYN Town FC have officially confirmed the return of former talisman Michael Parker.

The Seasiders’ announced the news originally reported by The Journal on Sunday evening, with the talented midfielder returning to the Motion Finance Stadium after a season away from the set-up at Connah’s Quay Nomads.

This is the latest in a series of notable signings confirmed by Town over the weekend, with Kai Edwards and Rob Hughes also putting pen to paper from Llandudno and Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Parker opted to depart the Seasiders’ last summer following a trophy-laden stint at the club, which saw him rise from a promising Academy prospect to a Welsh Cup winner.

He made 200 appearances for Town during his first stint with the club, and he is widely considered as one of their greatest ever players.

The midfielder was fiercely loyal to the club during his 13-year stay, turning down a wealth of high-profile offers in favour of remaining at his hometown club.

He has made a series of impressive displays for Andy Morrison’s Iron-Bru Cup finalists this season, who finished in second spot behind champions The New Saints.

Speculation linking Parker with a return to the squad has been gathering pace throughout the summer, with the player enjoying a long and profitable relationship with manager Neil Gibson.

The move took another giant leap forward this week when Parker was released by the Nomads, with Newtown also believed to have made an offer to acquire his services.
