PRESTATYN Town have officially confirmed the high-profile signings of Kai Edwards and Rob Hughes.

The Seasiders’ announced the moves initially reported by The Journal on Friday, with the talented duo arriving from Llandudno and Connah’s Quay Nomads respectively.

This is a significant statement of intent from the Seasiders, who are aiming to mount a serious promotion bid in the newly formed FAW Tier Two Northern Championship next season after a fine second half of the Huws Gray Alliance campaign.

Edwards is from the region and had a previous spell at Town on loan from Wrexham, with brothers Zyaac and Zebb also poised to return to the club upon the official opening of the domestic transfer window.

The Wales C international has acquired a wealth of experience in the domestic game, with his efforts for Connah’s Quay Nomads drawing widespread praise before he opted to join Llandudno last summer, much to the annoyance of boss Andy Morrison.

Combative midfielder Hughes also boasts top-flight experience with the Nomads, Town and Rhyl, and he also netted 12 times in 25 appearances during a spell with Goulbourn Valley Suns.

He signed a one-year deal for Morrison’s men last summer but was released earlier this week along with Michael Parker, who is also set for a return to the Motion Finance Stadium.
