ANOTHER Prestatyn Town target has been released by JD Welsh Premier League side Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Rob Hughes is one of a large number being targeted by Seasiders’ boss Neil Gibson during the summer, and he is now free to speak with other clubs after the Nomads’ decided not to pursue a new deal with the player.

Hughes would be a notable addition to a club that is harbouring huge ambitions for next season after an encouraging second half of the Huws Gray Alliance campaign, with the likes of Kai Edwards and Michael Parker heavily linked to moves to the Motion Finance Stadium.

The combative midfielder boasts JD Welsh Premier League experience with the Nomads, Town and Rhyl, and he also netted 12 times in 25 appearances during a spell with Goulbourn Valley Suns.

He signed a new one-year deal with Andy Morrison’s side last summer, but it is not known whether or not the Iron Bru Cup finalists will offer him a new deal going forward.

Town chairman Neal Colakoglu has previously stated that Gibson has an “open budget” in regards to playing staff during what is expected to be a busy summer fine tuning a talented core group for a promotion push.

Nomads’ manager Andy Morrison also paved the way for Parker to return after he was another to be released.
