RHYL FC have received another considerable boost after skipper Max Peate committed his immediate future to the club.
The experienced defender signed on at the Educate Group Stadium last summer and enjoyed a fine first season for the Lilywhites, emerging as one of the dressing room leaders and making 35 appearances in all competitions.
He also managed to score three times during the campaign, including a winner at home against fierce derby rivals Bangor City in November.
The Journal understands that Peate turned down a significant offer from former club Gresford Athletic to remain at the Lilies, and he is the 14th squad member from their Huws Gray Alliance campaign that set to spearhead their expected promotion push next term.
Director of football Eddie Maurice-Jones, said: "I am delighted that Max has agreed to continue with us for another season.
“As captain, Max understands the importance of the team’s togetherness and supports the values you need to be successful as a team."
Further signings are expected to be announced by the management team throughout the summer, with the squad already heavily strengthened with the signings of Airbus Broughton striker Asa Hamilton and energetic Llandudno full-back Steve Thomas.
