TWO Rhyl and District Rugby Club volunteers spent the day at Buckingham Palace for a special event recently.
Gareth and Clare John, who donate their time to the set-up’s youth section, represented the Dragons’ at the Palace’s annual Royal Garden Party that honours volunteers throughout the country.
The husband and wife duo have worked incredibly hard behind the scenes at the WRU National League Division Two North, who are in the midst of an exciting transition after officially moving into their impressive new facility that is being utilised by the whole community at Ty Newydd.
A club spokesman, said; “Gareth and Clare were delighted to accept the invitation and also represent the Club and the many incredible ‘foot soldiers’ at community level.
“The volunteers at Rhyl Rugby Club inspire and encourage local people and children, giving them inspiration to achieve and believe.
“Rhyl Rugby Club is built on the incredible community efforts of parents, volunteers, friends and families.
“The co-operation and collaboration of their voluntary hours is enormous and gives the children so much.
“It's an exciting time to be part of Rhyl Rugby Club and we look forward to welcoming all players, parents and members, old and new at their new facility at Ty Newydd Road.”
