LLANFAIR 3, LLANGYNHAFAL 1
THE first Summer League leaders of 2019 are Llanfair.
Dylan Pugh's charges claimed top spot in the standings courtesy of their 3-1 Tuesday night success at home to Llangynhafal.
Youngster Tom Roberts was Llanfair's man of the match and he opened the scoring in the first half with a close range effort.
A foul on Roberts by Tom Dyer saw the hosts awarded a penalty prior to the break and this was tucked away by Huw Price.
Llangynhafal weren't about to throw in the towel just yet, though, and a terrific Garmon Hafal header brought them back into the contest after the interval.
However, it would be Llanfair's night and striker Llyr Morris bagged their third goal.
"It was a good performance with a few missing, but we have got Llyr Morris at the start of the season, which makes a difference," said Llanfair manager Dylan Pugh.
Joint Llangynhafal boss Colin Caton said: "The team played well and the scoreline did not reflect the game."
